           TODAY'S TOURBUS TOPIC: Revenge of the Riders #3

In the process of rolling out the Internet Tourbus to 80000+ readers
in 127 countries, I probably send and receive more e-mail than most
people. A couple hundred messages per day crowd into my virtual inbox,
but I always enjoy hearing from readers with suggestions for new sites
to visit on the Tourbus.

So today I'm featuring four web destinations brought to my attention
by Tourbus readers. But before we roll out, be sure to visit our new
sponsors (BulletMail up in the Bus logo, and Candles Plus below) and
tell them you appreciate their support of Tourbus.

WORD OF THE DAY
===============

Miroslav Sedivy writes:

>Hello, my name is Miro Sedivy and I'm a student from Slovakia (Europe). I'd
>like to recommend to you to have a look at a new service which is
>located at http://www.travlang.com/wordofday - it sends e-mail with one

Wow! It's even better than that. Each day on this site, there's a
word of the day, with translations and pronunciations. You can click on
the word or phrase and hear it spoken in Afrikaans, Bulgarian, Mandarin,
Russian or many other languages. I learned how to say "Where do you
live?" in Polish - just in case.

THE REVIEW ZONE
===============

Tina Velgos writes:

>Hi Bob, I'd like to recommend my site, The Review Zone
>http://www.TheReviewZone.com for a possible "stop" on your Tourbus.
>The Review Zone is an independent, parent-friendly web site loaded with

>kids and families, hardware and computer books.

Sure enough, there are dozens of reviews here to help you find educational
software for kids of all ages. Also, there are some interesting articles
in the Family Computing section, and a great annotated list of links Just
For Girls.

THE HUMOR ZINE THING
====================

Erich Voice writes:

>What do floating heads, imaginative vehicles, and a web bungee jump have
>in common? Arguably not much, but they can all be found at the
>"wwwVOice Humor Zine Thing" site .

>A member of the Joke-a-Day Hall of Fame, Netscape Gold site, and recent
>Short Attention Span Site of the Week at the Centre for the Easily
>Amused, the "wwwVOice" site is updated weekly and has been featured in many
>magazines as well as USA Today.

This zine, which was recently retitled Spackle, and features lots of original
humor including the Bud Uglly Web Site Design company. If you want to see
some really ugly (and really funny) websites, check this one out!

FREE STUFF FOR WEB GEEKS
========================

Marc McDonald writes:

>Hi, Bob. I've long enjoyed the Tourbus and think you do a great job.
>I don't know if you accept submissions for sites to be mentioned in
>the Tourbus, but I thought I'd give it a shot. My site is:
>Dr. Webster's Amazing Free Stuff Page -  http://surf.to/free-stuff

This is a non-commercial "free stuff" site geared toward Webmasters
and Web site owners. It focuses on free products and services that
HTML slingers can use to get the most out of their site, and also offers
plenty of goodies for people who don't run Web sites, including
free software and product samples.

See you next time!  --Bob
