 OH, SAMA!
-----------

Chris White wrote to me and suggested I check out his DAILY PROBE site
for some Osama bin Laden humor. I haven't laughed so hard for a good
long time. Without being crude or gross, it makes light of the search
for "leading terrorist suspects". Secure your protective undergarments
and click on over to find new suspects such as "Osama ben Affleck",
"Madonna bin Laden" and "Orenthal bin Laden" appearing daily.

White, who also runs the popular TopFive website, puts it in these
terms: "As humorists, we feel it is our job to help make the horrific
events of the past two weeks a bit easier to bear by continuing to do
what we do best -- making fun of pop culture and current events. If
you are offended by this, please keep in mind that others find it
therapeutic."

Harold Valenzuela, who describes himself as a rider who happened to
get stuck on the seat with the wheel-well, says "I've been on the Bus
for quite a few years now. You're the only newsletter that I have kept
after trying many over the last seven years. Most are self-promoters
with something to sell. I like what Tourbus brings: Knowledge. I want
to thank you for all the knowledge you dispense to the unwashed masses
and aimless surfers out there. Myself included." Thanks, Harold!
It's nice to get feedback like that. Harold says one of his favorite
sites is the Astronomy Picture of the Day page at

   http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html

Each day a different image or photograph is featured, along with
a brief explanation written by a professional astronomer.

 LUNAR ZITS?
-------------

RRS from somewhere deep in AOLspace asked me to mention the "Paint the
Moon" website. James Downey, an artist from Columbia Missouri is
trying to organize millions of people in a "collaborative work of
celestial art". His goal: get everyone to simultaneously shine laser
pointers on one area of the Moon to create a temporary red spot on the
lunar surface, visible from Earth. Downey admits that many scientists
have told him it probably won't work, but who knows?

Steve Pattison from Australia wrote to me about ACB RADIO, an online
radio station operated by and for blind people.

   http://www.acbradio.org

Steve says "ACB RADIO offers four audio streams. One stream for issues
of relevance to blind and vision impaired people, a second stream
playing music by musicians who happen to be blind. A third stream
playing nothing but old-time radio and a fourth stream called ACB
Radio Interactive where you can hear live broadcasts from DJs who
happen to be blind. Despite the fact that the idea for the station
was started from the American Council of the Blind it is based in New
Zealand. However the presenters come from a number of countries."
