 BOB'S FAVORITE DOWNLOAD SITES
-------------------------------

These sites from ZDNet and CNET are tops in the download arena. You
can find shareware and freeware games, clipart, utilities, and demos
of commercial products. Whether you've got a PC, Mac, or PDA there is
software aplenty waiting for you here.

At the CNET site there is Thanksgiving-inspired collection of games,
screensavers, and themes, but so far I have not been able to find a
site from which I can download mashed potatoes. So it's back to the
peeler...

 BOB'S OLD-TIME RADIO LINKS
----------------------------

Ahhh... pass the old-time radio, please. Fibber McGee, Amos & Andy
and the Shadow. Thanks to many excellent old-time radio sites, you
can re-live the glory days of radio. Boston Pete's Virtual Radio
Broadcast is one of the best, and you can find dozens of others via
Jack's Killer List of Old Time Radio Pages.

 BOB'S RECOMMENDED FINDERS
---------------------------

My favorite search engines and people finders? These are my picks for
the cream of the crop.

   SEARCH - http://www.google.com

Google has knocked off AltaVista to become my favorite search site. It
gets high marks for relevancy, but oh how ironic... a search for
"stuffing" turns up "Publication No Longer Available" as the #1 hit.

   METASEARCH - http://www.ixquick.com

Try a search for "spam recipes" here. Bob and Jan's recipe for "Turkey
SPAM chowder and Italian SPAM cheese balls" is not to be missed.

   PEOPLE - http://www.infospace.com

Got some time on your hands? See how many people have the last name
"Turkey" in your home town.

---------------------------------
 BOB'S GEEKY WEB DEVELOPER PICKS
---------------------------------

If you're a web developer, or a wannabe cybergeek, you will find these
sites very useful. Netscape's DevEdge site serves up lots of online
web programming references including the Javascript Guide which I
visit often. Matt's Script Archive is a veritable cornucopia of
website addons to help you enable search, chat, guest books, forms,
counters and more.

 SOME POINTS TO PONDER
-----------------------

Here's a story I printed once before in TOURBUS, but in light of world
events, I think it's worth another read. Sorry I don't know the
author, but it reminds us we have a lot for which to be truly
thankful, and I hope you'll pass it along.

>If you woke up this morning with more health than illness, you are
>more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.

>If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness
>of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation,
>you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

>If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment,
>arrest, torture, or death, you are more blessed than three billion
>people in the world.

>If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof
>overhead and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of this world.

>If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a
>dish someplace, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

>If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly
>thankful, you are blessed because the majority can, but most do not.

>If you can hold someone's hand, hug them or even touch them on the
>shoulder, you are blessed because you can offer healing touch.

>If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in
>that someone was thinking of you, and you are more blessed than over
>two billion people in the world that cannot read at all.

>Have a good day, count your blessings, and pass this along to remind
>everyone else how blessed we all are.

 GOLDEN OLDIES
---------------

I've heard it said that freedom of the press belongs to those who own
one. But since the Internet makes global publishing possible for the
average person, I'm glad that thousands of you have chosen to remain
"on the Bus" for so many years. Whether you're new to TOURBUS, or
you've been a rider since we started back in 1995, you'll find some
helpful articles in the TOURBUS Archives:

That's all for now, I'll see you next time! --Bob
